Introduction Speech
Welcome to Aqua Camp! We’ll cover the day’s agenda, review safety rules, and get everyone excited to explore aquatic ecosystems together.
Ecosystem Class
Students explore the delicate balance of life in nature through a hands-on ecosystem jar project and interactive food web games. This session introduces producers, consumers, decomposers, and how each plays a role in keeping our planet in harmony.
Knot Tying & Boat Knowledge
In this hands-on session, campers learn essential boating knots like the bowline, square knot, and cleat hitch through guided practice and team relays. They also explore boat parts, terminology, and safety basics—building confidence and competence for future water adventures.
Plastic Recycling Process
Campers discover what happens to plastic after it's tossed in the bin. Through a fun hands-on sorting challenge, a recycling relay, and a shrink-plastic craft project, kids learn how plastics are categorized, processed, and repurposed — and how they can reduce waste in their everyday lives.
Lunch
Campers will be provided lunch and hydration beverages to refuel their body as they sit and talk with their group in our cafeteria.
Outdoor Exploration Time
Campers head outside to put their knowledge into practice! Guided by our naturalists, kids explore nearby trails, shorelines, and habitats with first hand observation. This hands-on time in nature reinforces classroom concepts while developing appreciation for our local environment.
Water Safety & Life Jacket Lab
Campers learn the essentials of staying safe around lakes, rivers, and pools. Through interactive scenarios, relay challenges, and proper life jacket fitting drills, students gain the knowledge and confidence to recognize water hazards, respond calmly, and wear safety gear correctly — all while having fun.
Water Physics Course
This class brings the science of water to life through fun, hands-on experiments. Campers explore density, surface tension, flow, and temperature by racing water through different materials, balancing objects in water, and testing how drops behave on coins and leaves. It's physics made playful and unforgettable!
Microscope Lab: Microorganisms
Campers take a deep dive into the hidden world of microorganisms using real microscopes and live water samples from the lake. With guided slide prep, observation charts, and sketch journals, students explore bacteria, protozoa, and algae — discovering how even the tiniest life forms play a big role in our ecosystems.
Departure Speech
Camp counselors lead a reflective closing circle where campers share their favorite moments and discoveries from the day. We celebrate achievements and highlight memorable moments.
Pickup
Parents check out their campers at our secure pick-up area, where staff are available to answer questions and share the day's accomplishments. Campers collect their projects and belongings while counselors ensure a smooth transition home.
